Safe dishes and traps
Naturally gluten-free: jamón, tortilla de patatas (ask for no fried bread), gambas al ajillo, pulpo a la gallega, patatas bravas depending on the sauce. At risk: croquetas, fried calamari, bread, bocadillos and anything breaded or thickened with flour. Even with an adapted menu, ask whether the frying is separate (cross-contamination).
- "Soy celíaco/a, ¿tiene platos sin gluten?" (I am coeliac, do you have gluten-free dishes?)
- "¿Esto lleva harina o pan?" (Does this contain flour or bread?)
- "¿La freidora es solo para sin gluten?" (Is the fryer gluten-free only?)
