Quinta de los Molinos, Madrid: almond blossom and park visits
Quinta de los Molinos, in the Salvador neighbourhood, preserves the landscape of a former agricultural estate away from the central monuments. Architect César Cort shaped the grounds, where almond trees grow alongside olives, pines and country-house buildings. The blossom usually appears in February or March, depending on the weather, and draws many visitors. Outside the flowering season, the park is still a pleasant place to walk beneath the trees; admission is free all year.
Highlights

Almond blossom
White and pink flowers transform the rows of trees in late winter. Peak flowering changes from year to year: a blossom photograph does not guarantee the same sight during your stay.

The estate landscape
The trees and paths recall a property that combined leisure with agriculture. Walk further north to discover another side of the grounds, without assuming that all the buildings are open for visits.
