Faunia Madrid: tickets, opening times and visiting with family
In eastern Madrid, in the Valdebernardo district, Faunia is a nature and animal park that recreates several of the world's habitats as large themed areas. You can walk round it in half a day to a full day, with pauses for shows and meetings with keepers. It suits families and days when the weather is uncertain, though part of the route is outdoors. It does not replace the zoo in Casa de Campo: see the Madrid zoo-aquarium to compare.
Highlights

The aquatic habitats
The route passes through areas devoted to rivers, marshes and life underwater, with glass tunnels that take you beneath the fish. Allow time to watch, as the best sightings come when you are not rushing.

Dinosaurs and children's areas
Dinosaur models and areas for younger children make the park lively for kids. Check which attractions are open on the day of your visit.
Shows and animal encounters
The day's programme changes with the season. Look at it at the entrance and build your route around the two or three sessions that interest you.
