The options compared

Hours change with the day and the season: opening is most often at 11:00 and closing varies (windows of 11:00 to 16:00, 18:00 or 20:00 on a reseller calendar). The official calendar for your day is the reference, and you buy the ticket before you come.

Official ticket or Tiqets?

The official site is the price reference; Tiqets is for convenience and the ticket on your phone. Watch the gap between "from" prices and the real price of the day. Compare. Full page: Madrid Zoo Aquarium.

Pandas, aquarium and activities

The site highlights the pandas, educational activities (sea lions, birds of prey, exotic animals), an immersive experience and a small train. We did not read any show times: check the day's programme at the entrance.

Getting there by metro

Take line 5 or 10 to Casa de Campo: the station is not in front of the entrance, allow about 900 m on foot through the park according to a parks website. Bus 33 links Príncipe Pío to the Casa de Campo. The Parque de Atracciones is next door: for a more thrilling outing see Parque de Atracciones. For more family ideas, read Madrid with kids.

Is a guided tour worth it?

Not really: the zoo is visited on your own. The educational activities listed on the official site are enough for families.
