Updated on October 9, 2026

The ABC Museum of Drawing and Illustration is a free museum devoted to press cartoons, comics and illustration, at Calle de Amaniel 29-31, near the Plaza de España. It shows exhibitions drawn from the ABC newspaper collection and from other creators. It occupies the former Mahou brewery of 1891 (3,700 m² on five levels), whose red brick walls have been preserved. Entry is free. Opening hours taken from the Madrid tourist office: Monday to Saturday 9am to 9pm from January to June and October to December; in July and September Monday to Friday 9am to 7.30pm; closed in August. Confirm before you go, as hours vary with the exhibitions. It is a short, original visit between the Royal Palace and Malasaña: allow 45 minutes to 1.30 hours.
