Dates and races
| Race | Best for | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Marathon (42.195 km) | Experienced runners | The most sought-after bibs, phased registration |
| Half marathon | Regular runners | Depending on the edition, the same weekend as the marathon |
| 10 km | Beginners and families | Depending on the edition, the same weekend; check the 2027 races |
The 2027 date is the one announced by the local press; the organiser remains the reference. Streets in the centre are closed to traffic on race day: plan your journeys (see getting around Madrid).
Taking part
Create an account on the official site, look at the current phase and keep your bib: registration is personal. Allow for a certificate or insurance if the organiser requires them. April in Madrid is mild, but afternoons can get hot.
For supporters
The centre is lively on race day: pick a viewing point near a metro station, and keep a plan to find your runner. A hotel near Atocha station or the Retiro simplifies trips (see hotels near Atocha). The Retiro park is a good place to recover after the race.
