Guided tour or tapas on your own
| Format | Time | Price seen | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided Tapas Crawl | About 3 h | 79 to 103 EUR on resellers | First evening, no bearings, small groups |
| Tapas on your own | At your pace | The price of each drink and portion | Those who already know a few bars |
What a guided tour includes
The format is to pass through several bars in a few hours, with a guide who explains the dishes and chooses the stops; according to resellers, drinks and tapas are included, but the exact content varies: read the booking page. Book as soon as you know your dates, especially at weekends.
Doing the tapas route on your own
The streets to know are Cava Baja and Cava Alta (La Latina), and the area around Plaza de Santa Ana and Plaza Mayor. Order a drink, share two or three raciones and move on to the next bar. For more addresses, see tapas in Madrid and wine and tapas: which offer.
Tips
Dine late: in Spain bar kitchens fill up around 21:00. Mention allergies and diets when booking. Wear comfortable shoes: the circuit is on foot.
