4 hotels with a rooftop pool
| Hotel | Indicative price/night | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel Emperador | 120-220 € | Rooftop pool at Gran Vía number 53 with city views: one of the best-known addresses, open in season |
| Room Mate Oscar | 100-200 € | Design hotel in Chueca (plaza Vázquez de Mella), rooftop pool and bar: for going out in the evening |
| Riu Plaza España | 140-250 € | 4-star at the plaza de España end, rooftop pool and terrace: the biggest of the four |
| Dear Hotel Madrid | 150-280 € | Rooftop terrace and small plunge pool, Gran Vía 80: mainly for the view, not for swimming |
Indicative double-room prices, very variable; pool opening depends on the season, confirm with the hotel.
When the pool is open
Madrid's rooftop pools mostly open in summer, often June to September, when temperatures regularly exceed 35 °C in July and August. Outside that period the terrace may stay open without swimming. Confirm the dates before booking: access for non-guests is sometimes limited.
Area, noise and safety
The three hotels on Gran Vía are very well served by the metro (Plaza de España, Gran Vía, Callao) but noisy; ask for a courtyard room. The Room Mate Oscar is in Chueca, a lively and safe district with intense nightlife. Beware of pickpockets in the metro.
Our pick
To swim and relax: the Riu Plaza España. For nightlife: the Room Mate Oscar. For the view: the Dear Hotel or the Emperador. More budget options in our guides to the best hotels in Madrid by budget and Madrid in summer.
