Official, free or Tiqets?
If you are in Madrid on a Monday, the simplest is to come in the afternoon, but expect crowds. The Tiqets ticket serves other days and combos: it is sold with the Liria Palace (from EUR 25), the Thyssen (from EUR 19) and the Royal Collections Gallery (from EUR 15.75). It is a good way to group two visits in one payment, to compare with two separate tickets.
Who it suits, and the traps
- Art and photography fans. The programme alternates painting, photography and modern art.
- Children. The exhibitions are more for adults and teenagers.
- Headphones. They are not included: bring your own.
- Exhibition changes. They change several times a year: check the dates before booking.
Around the foundation
The hall is near Plaza de Colón and the National Archaeological Museum. Our page on the Mapfre Foundation presents the place. For a guide in the area, see the welcome tour of Madrid on GetYourGuide, unrelated to the foundation. For more free or cheap ideas: free things to do in Madrid.
