Veranos de la Villa: Madrid's summer cultural festival

Updated on October 5, 2026

Veranos de la Villa is Madrid City Council's summer festival: music, dance, theatre, circus, cinema and exhibitions take place across several venues. There is no single festival site or pass granting entry to everything. The 42nd edition's main programme ran from 7 July to 29 August 2026; some associated exhibitions continued until 20 September. Consult the official announcement when the 2027 dates and programme are released.

Highlights

Condeduque's historic setting

Condeduque's historic setting

This former military complex is one of the cultural venues associated with the festival. The photograph shows its gateway, not a performance: check whether your event uses a courtyard, a hall or another space.

Outdoor performances

The festival also uses parks and facilities in different districts. Choose an artistic event that appeals to you first, then check its location: two events in the same festival may involve very different journeys.

A varied programme

A concert, a dance production and an exhibition offer different experiences. Works without dialogue can be easier to follow if you do not speak Spanish; suitability for families depends on each performance.

Tips

Conditions checked in October 2026 for the completed edition: free and paid activities depending on the event, with no single admission price. Free does not always mean walk-in entry: some events require a ticket or reservation. Use the ticket service identified by the festival and check duration, recommended age, entry conditions and any accessibility arrangements. Do not book a trip based on a previous edition's poster.

How to get there

Several venues across Madrid, with no general entrance. For Condeduque: Calle del Conde Duque, 11, 28015 Madrid; Metro Ventura Rodríguez (line: 3), Plaza de España (lines: 3, 10) or Noviciado (line: 2). The exact address on your ticket takes precedence for each performance.
