According to our attraction page, the museum opens 10:00 to 19:00 Tuesday to Friday and Sunday, until 23:00 on Saturday, and 12:00 to 16:00 on Monday (September to June; summer hours differ). Closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.
Official ticket, Tiqets or free Monday?
The free Monday is the best deal, but it is four hours long with the crowd that goes with it: you will see the rooms less well. For a quiet visit, a paid ticket midweek is better. The Tiqets ticket is not cheaper than the official one: it secures your slot. Compare the same-day price and read the cancellation terms. Full page: Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofía
The Thyssen is the easiest of the three: one collection from Italian primitives to pop art, in about two hours. The Prado costs EUR 15 and the Reina Sofía EUR 12 (October 2026). With one day, pick two museums, not three. To choose, read Prado or Reina Sofía and the route of the Paseo del Arte.
When a guided tour is worth it
The Thyssen is easy on your own with the museum map. If you want a guide, first look at the Prado guided tours in Prado guided tour: which offer: that is where the choice is richest.
