What to remember
Dates change every year: watch the Madrid city council site and each rink's site from mid-November. The municipal rinks (Matadero, Cibeles) are the cheapest; Colon and Plaza de Espana are best placed for combining skating with a walk through the lights.
Practical tips
Book online for weekends and school holidays, as the 30-minute sessions fill up. Bring gloves (often sold separately). Morning slots are the quietest.
