What the price includes
The base fare covers the flight, the ground crew who recover the balloon and the ride back to the take-off field. Depending on the operator it may include breakfast or a picnic, photos and insurance. The transfer from Madrid is often extra: one Segovia operator charges €40 per person. Always compare the price with transfer, because a €175 flight without transfer can cost more than a €205 offer with a minibus.
Getting there from Madrid
Without an organised transfer you need a car: meeting points are fields outside the towns, poorly served by public transport and reached before dawn. Weather, cancellation and restrictions
The flight depends on wind and visibility: the operator decides at dawn and may postpone or cancel. Before paying, ask in writing for the postponement or refund policy, the minimum age, any weight or health limits and the exact meeting point, because the tourist board listing does not state them. Do not plan the flight for your last day: keep a margin for a postponement.
