Rules and safety
In Madrid the minimum age to ride this type of vehicle is 15 according to the official tourism site, and a helmet is compulsory under 18 under the city ordinance. Each operator sets its own conditions (age, height, weight, minimum group): read them before booking. A few minutes of training come before the ride.
The sunset bike alternative
The Madrid Sunset and Night Lights tour, about 2 hours, runs on a bike or e-bike; the meeting point seen is Calle de Santiago 18, and resellers advertise free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Prices and times change with the season: check them on the booking page.
Tips
Wear flat shoes and bring an extra layer for the evening. In summer, book the sunset slot, which is cooler. For more ideas, see Madrid by bike and sunset viewpoints.
