The short answer

  • For a car: choose a hotel on the edge of the centre (Plaza de España, Atocha) rather than at Sol or Huertas.
  • How much: the two Atocha hotels we noted announce parking at €20 a day, with no advance booking possible.
  • Before booking: ask the hotel whether its garage can be reached from the Centro zone and whether it registers your plate.

The Madrid Central trap

Madrid's low-emission zone works with plate-reading cameras, and in the Centro district access is very restricted for non-residents; public car parks have their own conditions. A hotel that advertises parking therefore does not guarantee you can reach it without a fine. The detail is in our page on Madrid's ZBE, to read before renting: see also car rental at the airport.

Five hotels with advertised parking

Hotel pick: Catalonia Plaza España Hotel & Spa (Booking score 9.0, read 30 October 2026): on the edge of the central zone, a good starting point for a car and the metro. Limit: the parking rate is not shown on the page, so ask the hotel.

Hotel pick: Woohoo Rooms Boutique Luna (Booking score 9.5, read 30 October 2026): the best score on the list, in the centre. Limit: it is inside the restricted zone, so check garage access.

Hotel pick: Grupotel Mayorazgo (Booking score 8.9 from 7,827 reviews, read 30 October 2026): a big hotel with a reassuring number of reviews and private parking announced. Limit: one portal says €8 a day, a figure to confirm with the hotel.

Hotel pick: HS Madrid Centro Atocha: on-site parking at €20 a day according to the listing, about 200 m from Méndez Álvaro metro. Limit: no space can be booked ahead, and the hotel is further south than the historic centre.

Alternatives without a garage

If the ideal hotel has no parking, use a public car park nearby and expect about €28 a day for a space noted on a calle de Atocha listing (a private owner's rate, to compare). Another option: sleep outside the centre, near a metro station, and leave the car there. To compare areas, read where to stay in Madrid.

To check before booking

  1. That the parking is the hotel's own, not a neighbouring garage.
  2. The nightly rate and the vehicle's maximum height.
  3. Access from the Centro zone, with your plate sent in advance.
  4. Arrival times if you have no reserved space.
