Three hotels, one verdict each
Hotel pick: Exe Moncloa (official site read 30 October 2026): opposite the Moncloa interchange (lines 3 and 6), 161 rooms, gym, sauna, steam bath, a small outdoor pool open 6 June to 14 September and a summer terrace; breakfast 7:00 to 10:30 on weekdays. Limit: parking is 25 EUR a day with limited spaces, and pets are not allowed.
Hotel pick: Barceló Torre de Madrid (address from Barceló's website): in the Torre de Madrid, Plaza de España 18, with Plaza de España Metro station next door according to guides. Limit: it is at Plaza de España, not Moncloa, and sources disagree about a pool or rooftop: confirm before booking.
Hotel pick: Hostal Moncloa (booking listing consulted 30 October 2026): about a 2-minute walk from Moncloa station, 24-hour reception and free Wi-Fi in common areas. Limit: a hostal, simpler than a hotel; choose it on recent reviews.
Why Moncloa
The Metro puts Sol, Gran Vía or Argüelles a few stops away, and the bus hub links the western suburbs. On foot: the Faro de Moncloa, Parque del Oeste and the Temple of Debod. For the cable car and its hours, check its website. See Argüelles and Moncloa.
Price and tips
The hotels show no rates on their sites: compare hotels in Moncloa on Booking with free cancellation. The district is quiet in summer when students leave. For other areas, see where to stay in Madrid.
